FAQ

Common questions from centres & families

Do your photographers have Working With Children Checks?+
Yes. All Playtime Portraits employees, including photographers and office administration staff, hold current Working With Children Checks. We're happy to supply documentation prior to your portrait day.
How long does a portrait day take?+
Most centres are completed in a single day. We typically photograph 80–120 children, scheduled around meal and rest times.
Is there any cost to the centre?+
No. Our service is complimentary to centres. Families simply choose an optional package using the payment envelope we provide.
Will the childcare centre receive copies of the images?+

Yes, every centre receives:

  • A printed copy of educator and class group photos for display within the centre
  • High-resolution digital copies suitable for use in children's portfolios, centre apps, and internal communications
  • A copy of each room group photograph
Do educators receive complimentary photos?+
Yes. Each educator receives a complimentary copy of their individual portrait, along with one class group photograph.
What do families receive?+
High-resolution digital images plus optional beautifully printed packages. Ordering is simple and hassle-free.
How long until images arrive?+
Galleries are delivered to families within seven days of the session.
What if a child is shy or upset?+
We never push. We move on, return later, and almost always get a beautiful natural smile.
What if parents or guardians are not happy with the photos?+
If a parent or guardian is not completely satisfied with the expression captured in their child's photograph, a refund will be provided for that image. Our goal is to ensure every family is happy with their final photos.
How do families pay for their photos?+
Before photo day, we deliver brochures and payment envelopes to the centre for every family. On photo day, simply send the completed envelope in with your child — you can pay with cash or fill in your card details on the order form, whichever suits you best.
How do parents order photos?+
Every family receives a brochure and order envelope ahead of the session. Choose your package, complete the form, and return it in the envelope on photo day — no accounts or online checkouts needed.
Can parents order extra prints after the initial deadline?+
Yes, additional orders are usually available for a period after photo day. If you miss the window, contact us and we'll do our best to help.
What should my child wear for preschool photos?+
We recommend simple, comfortable clothing in solid colours or soft patterns. Avoid large logos, busy graphics, or bright neon shades that can distract from your child's face. We send a photo-day reminder with tips before the session.
Will siblings be photographed together?+
Where centres allow sibling time in the schedule, we're happy to capture sibling and family group shots during the session. Let us know in advance if you'd like this arranged.
